Our Statement of Intent

1. To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work
    activities.
2. To consult with our clients on matters affecting their health and safety and of their guests.
3. To provide and maintain safe equipment.
4. To ensure safe handling and use of substances where applicable.
5. To ensure the DJ is competent to perform their tasks.
6. To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health.
7. To maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
8. To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.

Health & Safety

Capricorn Events take the health and safety of its clients, and guests very seriously.
Most hotels and venues across the country are insisting that PLI and PAT certificates be produced prior to an event taking place. We always make sure that all of our DJ's carry PAT and PLI certificates at all times.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

It is not a legal requirement, however all of our DJ's electrical equipment is tested on an annual basis to ensure it is safe, including cables, connectors and appliances. All of our DJ's equipment is inspected for visible defects, tested to ensure it passes the required government safety requirements. After the equipment has passed all of the tests, a test certification sticker is issued on every part of the DJ's equipment that is relevant, displaying the next due date of the test. Capricorn Events DJ's all carry valid PAT certification that would be produced, if required, upon request.

Public Liability Insurance (PLI)

Public liability is also known as third party or personal liability. With the introduction of the Public Entertainment Licence Act, more venues are insisting on public liability cover. More often than not, local authority venues require contractors to have adequate liability cover. Capricorn Events DJ's all have valid Public Liability Insurance certification that would be produced, if required, upon request.
